it all started with vintage sweatshirts

the year was 2020 and a guy named Ash was at uni in Leeds, figuring out what he wanted to do. Ash knew one thing, he loved vintage clothing, especially sweatshirts. Ash also loved going to kilo sales, and he started buying a couple extra pieces each time to resell. the name sweatstash was put together from a guy called Ash, who had a stash of sweats in his uni bedroom.

wanna go into business together?

this is what Ash asked his long term partner Ellie in a car park outside of b&m bargains one night in 2024. sweatstash had been slowly growing over the past couple of years but it was time to turn this into something special. Ellie also loved vintage clothing and had previously ran a small business, so this was a no brainer. (she said yes!) from that point on, we both worked relentlessly to build sweatstash to what it has become today.

big moves

today, sweatstash has become one of the small handful of sellers to reach over 30,000 sales on depop. we made the decision to make the move up to greater manchester at the end of 2025 to pursue new oppurtunities and get creative. still in progress...
